- Radioactive waste will now be stored near Lucas Heights. Councils will issue residents with a yellow recycling bin, with the waste collected every Thursday. They are being urged not to mix their radioactive waste with paper, card and plastic bottles.
- The fraud squad his raided the Health Services Union offices this morning. After spending four hours with union officials several officers are now claiming time off with back ache and threatening strike action for more pay.

- In a shocking revelation a UK parliamentary inquiry has suggested Rupert Murodch is not fit to run News Corp. Then they watched Fox News and agreed that he was the perfect man for the job.
- Koalas have been added to the threatened species list, just below the Siberian Tiger, the Australian Labor Party and members of the Comancheros bikies gang.
- Clive Palmer s wanted to stand for Wayne Swan’s seat of Lilley, but changed his mind when he saw that the seat wasn’t big enough.
- The mining magnate is to also build a replica of the Titanic – another boat that can never sink, unless he steps on board.
- The space shuttle Enterprise landed in New York this week, making its last trip before it became a museum exhibit. Just as Julia Gillard landed back in Canberra, returning from Turkey this week.
- Australian astronomers say finding planets outside the solar system that can sustain life should be made a top priority, otherwise more people will be forced to live in Adelaide.
