Sledging is a phenomenon introduced by the Australian cricket team whereby insults are hurled at the opposition in a desperate attempt to make the game remotely interesting.

A teenage boy has been disciplined for ball tampering at school whilst downloading images onto his mobile phone. The student said he was mimicking the mobile TV coverage of the England vs Pakistan test match at Lords where a game was suspended over a ball tampering controversy.

Former Australian batsman Dean Jones is to provide blow by blow commentary on the war in the Middle East. The former Australian batsmen is excited about the new gig, after being sacked from another TV contract for calling Hashim Amla a “terrorist”. It was later revealed that Amla is a South African “cricketer”. Jones says it was a genuine mistake that anyone could make. “If you see someone loitering for the best part of a day you’re bound to get suspicious” he said. “They’re either a suicide bomber, or they’re playing cricket”.
